The success of Richmond’s economic competitiveness and quality of life depends, to a large extent, on the quality and number of years of higher education our young people receive. Employers in our community require employees that can not only read, write and solve problems, but also communicate and demonstrate leadership skills. Without skilled employees, Richmond’s economic future is uncertain. To be an economic leader in our community, state and nation, we must first be a leader in the education of our children.

 Our Accomplishments

Since 1995, the RHSAA has raised money from alumni and other caring individuals of the community for scholarships.  In 2000. the first scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors who maintained a 2.0 GPA or better and wanted to attend college in Wayne County.

Today, the scholarship fund at the Wayne County Foundation totals more than $1.4 million.  The earnings from that fund are used for scholarship awards.  This year nearly $80,000 will be given in scholarships to '09 seniors, and to past alumni.

The RHSAA membership continues to give.

As more students are reached, the need continues to grow.  Be a part of the positive.
