Food Services
The Richmond Community Schools Food Services Department runs in partnership with Chartwells K12 a division of the Compass Group. At RCS our students are provided a free breakfast and free lunch every day through our participation in the Community Eligibility Provision. We also provide students with free snacks and free suppers if participating in academic enrichment afterschool programs. We serve over one million lunches each school year. In addition to serving students in our buildings, we take our food truck out on the road to meet our students in their neighborhoods, at community parks, and even summer youth camps so that we can offer every student free lunches all summer through our Summer Feeding Program. We have a licensed dietician and district chef on staff to ensure every student’s needs are met with careful menu planning and attention to quality.
