RICHMOND (April 24, 2023) – The Richmond High School Athletic Department is excited to welcome Mr. Hunter Lambright as the new head varsity track and field coach.
Mr. Lambright has been a teacher at Richmond High School for over nine years. Mr. Lambright earned his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and his master’s degree from Earlham College. He is now taking courses at Indiana Tech. Hunter has had over seven years of experience coaching RHS Cross Country.
“Richmond track and field has a rich tradition and history, and it is exciting to be a part of that tradition moving forward. I am looking forward to helping athletes achieve the best of their abilities and continuing to develop stronger, faster athletes who are better in competition, in the classroom, and in our community.”
On Saturday, the RHS boys’ team pushed through to claim victory at the Dean Stoltz Invitational in Eaton, Ohio. On Tuesday, April 25, the boys’ and girls’ teams return to action at home against Eastern Hancock. Field events kick off at 5:30 p.m. with running events to follow at 5:45 p.m.

All after school activities are cancelled due to the large industrial fire in the city's northwest side. RCS encourages everyone to follow the guidance of the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency. Richmond Community Schools wishes all the best to our first responders and the Richmond Fire Department as they work to keep our city safe.

Support and grow your child’s love for learning by registering them for Preschool and Kindergarten at Richmond Community Schools and get them moving in the right direction for a future of limitless possibilities! If your child is five years old on or before August 1, then be sure to register your young student at the Passport to Preschool and Kindergarten Event on Thursday, April 13 from 4 pm to 6 p.m. Parents or legal guardians registering their children must bring a few things, including a copy of the child’s birth certificate, current immunization records and 2 forms of proof of residence, like a utility bill or lease agreement. Non-RCS families who are interested in High Ability testing should contact Hibberd Program Building at 765-973-3488. This is for students in incoming grades 3-8 who would like to be considered for the Logos High Ability Program housed at Hibberd. Please call to be added to the list by March 24, 2023. Testing will take place following Spring Break.
