Richmond High School will be conducting Live Synchronous Instruction (online learning) following extreme inclement weather
RICHMOND (January 4, 2023) – Due to extreme inclement weather during winter recess, Richmond High School experienced water damage as a result of a busted pipe. Unfortunately, there was significant damage to our historic school building that require extensive renovations to address a multitude of challenges that the water damage has presented. RCS central office leadership team, Richmond High School administrative team, teacher leaders, and a plethora of community vendors have been working collaboratively to thoroughly access the matter and have been exercising due diligence to resolve this challenge. We are cognizant of the fact that we will be exhausting contingency plans that have never been explored within Richmond Community Schools. However, with the extreme nature of the challenge before us, we ask in advance that grace is extended to our entire school community.
For a point of clarity, Richmond High School is the only school throughout our corporation that was affected by the extreme inclement weather. Therefore, as was previously scheduled, all RCS preschool through eighth grade students will have a scheduled eLearning day on Friday, January 6. They are expected to return in-person on Monday, January 9 and they will follow a regular bell schedule.
At this time, Richmond High School students will follow live, synchronous learning (online learning) Monday, January 9 through Friday, January 13. In short, RHS students will be required to attend live, synchronous instruction (online learning). Google Meets will be the
